Traralgon RSL and Gippsland Writers Network invite you to enter this special Remembrance Day poetry competition with the theme of Poppies and Remembrance.
Enter a written work and/or read your poem on the night. Poems are to be themed Poppies & Remembrance. Written work will be judged before the event and there will also be prizes on the night for the reading of works (either own work or work by another author). Works will be judged by a panel from the RSL and GWN.
How to Enter and Entry Conditions
- Send your entry as a Word document by email to gippslandwritersgroup@gmail.com with the subject heading: Gippsland Writers Network ‘RSL Poetry’
- In the body of your email, list your entry title, name and word count as well as the author of the work and if you would like to take part in the live reading event.
- Entry is open to Members of the Traralgon RSL, GWN and students in years 9 to 12 in the Traralgon Region.
- The closing date is 3pm Wednesday 6 November 2024. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
- Any work found to have been generated using AI (artificial intelligence) or similar software will be disqualified.
- The entry must be based on the theme in any way the author sees fit.
- You can enter more than one poem but each entry must be sent in a separate email.
- Entries must not be more than one A4 printed copy.
- The judges may disqualify entries that go over this limit.
- The title must appear at the top of the page.
- The judge’s decision is final. No feedback will be offered.
- Winners of written works will be announced on the evening of the Poetry Competition alongside prizes for the Poetry Reading component.
